- 1 large ciabatta roll or baguette
- 1 large ripe tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 handful Fresh basil leaves
- 2 tbsp. balsamic glaze (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tbsp. Olive oil
- 2 slices mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Prepare a panini press or grill pan by preheating it.
The ciabatta roll or baguette must be cut in half lengthwise.
On the cut sides of the bread, drizzle a little olive oil.
Add mozzarella cheese, tomato slices, basil leaves, salt and pepper to one side of the bread.
Drizzle some balsamic glaze on top.
Gently press the sandwich with the other half of the bread.
Grill the sandwich on medium heat for 30 seconds, then leave it sitting in the pan.
Cook the sandwich in a panini press or grill pan until the bread is toasted and the cheese has melted.
Serve the Caprese Sandwich warm after removing it from the heat.
