Korean BBQ Beef (Bulgogi) Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound  thinly sliced beef (boneless steak)
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves of  garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp.  grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp.  Korean red pepper paste
  • ¼ cup green onions, thinly sliced
  • sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Wrap steak in plastic wrap and freeze for 30 minutes. Remove the wrapper and cut the meat into slices 1/4 inch thick.
  • Mix  soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and korean red pepper paste together in a medium bowl.
  • Combine soy sauce mixture and steak in a gallon ziplock bag; marinate for 1 to 2 hours, turning the bag occasionally.
  • In a cast iron grill pan, heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil. Working in batches, add sliced beef to the grill pan in a single layer and cook, flipping once, until charred and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the steak and repeat the process.
  • Green onions and sesame seeds can be garnished if desired, and served immediately.
